The Business Council of Alabama has named Troy University senior Anna M. Dobbins as a 2014 summer intern. The BCA regularly names interns who experience the workings of the state’s largest business advocacy organization.
“Select students are invited as interns each year to learn how our team works,” BCA President and CEO William J. Canary said.
“This valuable experience helps them gain perspective as they pursue their educations and careers.”
Dobbins is a broadcast journalism major with a minor in public relations. The Newton native expects to graduate in December. She is in the Troy University Broadcasting Club, the Public Relations/Advertising Society, and is a student member of the Montgomery Chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama.
“I am very excited about this opportunity to take what I’ve learned in school and apply it here at BCA,” Dobbins said. “I couldn’t ask for a better environment to be in where I can gain experience working in communications and become more knowledgeable of the field I hope to have a career in one day.”
Beginning in 2011, Dobbins started gaining valuable work experience as a loan administrative assistant for a local bank, handling administrative duties related to loan information processing, assisting state regulators to ensure loan compliance, and helping prepare for board of director meetings.
