Volkert, Inc. Goes International With Formation of Volkert Global

MOBILE, Ala. – Volkert, Inc., a leading 91-year-old full service, multi-discipline engineering services firm, has created Volkert Global, an independent international affiliate that extends Volkert’s ability to serve its growing international client base.

Volkert, a Business Council of Alabama member headquartered in Mobile and with offices in 14 states and the District of Columbia, has a long and successful history of providing support for public and private infrastructure clients in the United States.

Volkert President and CEO Perry Hand named Jerry Stump, Volkert’s chief operating officer, as Volkert Global President and CEO. Volkert Global is located in the Metro Nashville area.

“Jerry has done an exceptional job as COO of Volkert, Inc. and will continue in this role, as well as lead this exciting new venture of Volkert Global,” Hand said. “We are very excited for the future of Volkert, Inc. and Volkert Global, and know that Jerry is committed to our continued success and growth both in our own back yard and around the world.”

Volkert is working with one of its strategic design partners on a critical infrastructure development in Panama – a new Metro Link Transit System to serve Panama City as well as growing areas in the region in the Central American nation.

Volkert formed in 1925 and is an employee-owned engineering firm serving state and federal agencies, local and municipal governments, private industry, and select international clients. Volkert’s staff includes 800 planners, multi-disciplinary engineers, construction engineers, environmental specialists, program/construction managers, and real estate specialists.

Engineering News Record lists Volkert in the top 1 percent of U.S. Design Engineering Firms and No. 98 in the Top 500 Firms in the United States and 2015 marked the company’s 50th year on this list.
