Raytheon in Huntsville develops weapons for U.S., Allied Defense

Membership Spotlight

Business Council of Alabama member Raytheon and its Missile Integration Facility at the U.S. Army’s Redstone Arsenal were featured in a recent al.com and Huntsville Times article.

The membership meeting and banquet highlights chamber activities and awards outstanding businesses and individuals for community involvement, the Chamber said.

Business awards were handed out in four categories, giving recognition to Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Mom and Pop Business of the Year, and PowerSouth’s Business of the Year Service Award.

“The Business of the Year Service Award goes to a business that participates in a wealth of events and partners with the community by supporting the things that make us all grow stronger,” said Jessie Self, the outgoing Chamber President. “PowerSouth is very deserving of this award because it supports many local organizations and projects – both as a business and as individual employees.”

Rick Kyle, Chief Financial Officer, accepted the award from Chamber President Chris Mohon.

PowerSouth serves the wholesale energy needs of 16 electric cooperatives and four municipal electric systems in Alabama and northwest Florida, with more than 1 million consumers in 39 Alabama and 10 Florida counties. PowerSouth is dedicated to providing reliable energy at the lowest possible cost to its members.
