Manufacturer of the Year Awards Application Process Begins

The 2017 Manufacturer of the Year Awards luncheon at the Alabama Activity Center in downtown Montgomery is just around the corner and the deadline for nominations is Dec. 15, 2016. The application deadline is Feb. 23, 2017.

The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 20, 2017, at the Alabama Activity Center, 201 Dexter Ave., Montgomery, AL 36104.

The Alabama Technology Network and the Business Council of Alabama sponsor the annual event where Manufacturers of the Year in the small, medium, and large categories are announced and winners are presented with awards.

Awards are presented based on employee size – 1 to 99 employees in the small manufacturer category, 100 to 399 employees in the medium manufacturer category, and 400 or more employees in the large manufacturer category.

By applying, manufacturers convey their story of financial growth, manufacturing leadership, market leadership, workforce enhancement, and leadership development. Financial information is held in the strictest confidence.

Finalists are selected by an impartial panel and winners will be announced at the awards’ luncheon.

Since 2000, the Alabama Manufacturer of the Year Awards program has grown into a prestigious annual celebration attended by Alabama dignitaries and manufacturing leaders. It honors individuals and companies that bring uncompromising excellence to Alabama manufacturing by recognizing top manufacturers for their accomplishments.

The 2016 winners were Austal USA in Mobile in the large manufacturer category, Revere Controls in Hoover in the medium manufacturer category, and Plasmine Technology in Bay Minette in the small manufacturer category.
