The Internal Revenue Service has scheduled a free webinar on Tuesday for taxpayers and particularly small business owners on what to consider when choosing a paid tax preparer and some common business tax provisions.
The webinar is scheduled March 31 from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Central Time.
The title of the webinar is 10 Things to Ask Your Accountant.
The tip-laden webinar is in time for the April 15 filing deadline for the 2014 tax year, just two weeks after the webinar.
According to the IRS, the webinar will discuss three important questions to ask before hiring a tax professional. The webinar also will discuss seven common tax provisions that often apply to small business owners, including deductions for a home office, business use of a car and depreciation, and making quarterly estimated tax payments including e-paying using the agency’s new Direct Pay option.
The IRS Webinars for Small Businesses on IRS.gov also has archived versions of past webinars. Past webinars have included tip income reporting and the home office deduction.
