Business Council of Alabama member Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation (INTUITIVE) of Huntsville is once again named a best place to work.

Fortune magazine recently announced that the firm was No. 38 in the list of 50 Best Places to Work for New College Grads.

Hired just a year ago after graduating from Auburn University, production engineer Genevieve Teel wrote a testimonial printed by Fortune in announcing INTUITIVE as a winner. She said that INTUITIVE’s culture sets the company apart.

“The company is dedicated to investing in the health and success of its employees,” Teel wrote. “INTUITIVE also contributes to the mental and emotional health of its employees by encouraging us to volunteer in the community, stressing the importance of a work-life balance, and treating us as individuals.

“Knowing that I am valued as an individual motivates me to work that much harder, for myself and for INTUITIVE,” she wrote of her first full-time job out of college. “In short, when it comes to taking care of their employees and their community, INTUITIVE cuts no corners.”

Intuitive focuses on employee needs ranging from corporate benefits to personal recognition. Employees are encouraged to grow personally and professionally through education and training and to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

In March, Intuitive was recognized by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce as one of the 2016 Best Places to Work for Huntsville/Madison County. This is Intuitive’s ninth consecutive year to win the award.

Intuitive’s co-founder and CEO, Rey Almodóvar, accepted the award on behalf of employees. Almodóvar is a member of the BCA board of directors.

“This award is special to me because it reflects how our employees feel about the company,” Almodovar said. “It has always been our priority to provide a workplace where employees are proud of where they work and excited about what they do.”

The ceremony honored businesses in three categories including small, medium, and large businesses. INTUITIVE competed in the large group, which is for companies of more than 150 employees.

In October, Intuitive was ranked No. 1 on The 12th Annual Great Place to Work® Rankings: 2015 Best Small & Medium Workplaces, presented by FORTUNE magazine.

It was the second year in a row to be named No. 1 and Intuitive’s sixth consecutive year as a national top 10 Great Place to Work.

The list has recognized companies with exceptional workplace cultures. The evaluation is based on five criteria: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

Intuitive’s co-founder and president, Harold Brewer, and Juanita Phillips, Intuitive’s director of Human Resources, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“We are proud to be recognized again this year as the Nation’s Greatest Medium-Sized Workplace,” Brewer said. “The success of our company is directly driven by employee performance, which is why our company culture is focused on putting employees first.”

Also in 2015, Intuitive was ranked No. 1 in Fortune magazine’s 50 Best Small and Medium Companies to Work For.
