Business Council of Alabama names Auburn University student as intern

Auburn University finance student Drew Hewston has been named a summer intern at the Business Council of Alabama.

The BCA regularly invites interns to experience the operation of the state’s largest business advocacy organization.

“Select students are invited as interns each year to learn how our team works,” said BCA President and CEO William J. Canary. “The invaluable experience helps them gain perspective as they pursue their educations.”

Hewston, a senior at Auburn University’s Raymond J. Harbert College of Business, started his BCA internship May 20 and he will be part of the intern program until Aug. 8. Hewston will assist in political research and fundraising activities and help prepare programs and events.

Hewston, who is from Selma, plans to graduate with a degree in finance in May 2015. “This is an opportunity for me to get some experience by working in the political arena and to know people whose guidance and experiences can help me down the road,” Hewston said.
