The Business Council of Alabama is pleased to announce that Andrea Hutchings has joined our team as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO. Her primary roles will include coordinating logistics and strategic operations for the President and CEO serving as a liaison to the BCA Board of Directors, coordinating BCA Executive Committee operations and other special projects to help advance BCA’s mission.
Hutchings comes from Governor Kay Ivey’s Administration where she has been since 2017. By utilizing a strong work ethic and innovative thought process, Andrea was able to elevate herself quickly in the Governor’s office and was ultimately promoted to Director of Scheduling in February 2019. During her time with the Governor’s office, Andrea also assisted in the preparation and execution of several key projects championed by the administration including Governor Ivey’s “Listen, Learn, Help and Lead” tour.
Prior to her time in the Governor’s office, Andrea served as an intern for the Alabama Law Institute where she assisted in constituent affairs and aided the House Ethics, Military & Veterans Affairs, and State Government Committees. Through working in both the Executive and Legislative branches of government, Andrea has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the internal functions of government which will be a valuable asset in helping enhance the day-to-day operations of BCA.

Hutchings is an Auburn University Montgomery graduate with focuses in Criminal Justice and Political Science.
Andera and her husband, Philip, reside in Wetumpka with their dogs, Luna and Annie.
