The nomination deadline for the 2018 Manufacturer of the Year Awards luncheon at the Alabama Activity Center in downtown Montgomery on April 18 is fast approaching.
The deadline to nominate a worthy manufacturer is Jan. 10, 2018, and self-nominations are encouraged. The deadline to submit an application to become a MOTY finalist and be considered for the top award is Feb. 26, 2018.
The luncheon for the event sponsored by the Alabama Technology Network and the Business Council of Alabama will be April 18, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Alabama Activity Center, 201 Dexter Ave., Montgomery, AL 36104.

Since 2000, the Alabama Manufacturer of the Year Awards program is a prestigious annual celebration attended by Alabama dignitaries and manufacturing leaders.
These annual awards recognize the state’s top manufacturers for their accomplishments. By applying for the award, manufacturers convey their story of financial growth, manufacturing leadership, market leadership, leadership development, and workforce enhancement.
Awards are presented in three categories based on the number of employees and revenue.
In addition, an Emerging Manufacturer of the Year Award may be presented to a company that has been in operation for five or fewer years and has demonstrated superior performance.

MOTY awards are selected in three categories based on the number of employees – 1 to 99 employees in the small manufacturer category, 100 to 399 employees in the medium manufacturer category, and 400 or more employees in the large manufacturer category.
The 2017 MOTY winners were Mercedes-Benz U.S. International Inc. in Vance in the Large Manufacturer of the Year category; LINE-X LLC in Huntsville in the Medium Manufacturer of the Year category; and Central States Manufacturing Inc. in Jasper in the Small Manufacturer of the Year category.
By applying, manufacturers convey their story of financial growth, manufacturing leadership, market leadership, workforce enhancement, and leadership development. Financial information is held in the strictest confidence.
Finalists are selected by an impartial panel and winners will be announced at the awards’ luncheon.
