MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Business Council of Alabama (BCA) has announced that ProgressPAC, BCA’s political affiliate, has endorsed State Representative Wes Allen for Secretary of State.
BCA also recently announced ProgressPAC’s second round of state legislative endorsements for the election cycle. All legislative and statewide endorsements made thus far by ProgressPAC for 2022 can be found at www.voteforalabamajobs.com.
Allen, a Republican from Troy, Alabama, was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2018 where he represented House District 89. Prior to his service in the Alabama Legislature, Allen served as probate judge of Pike County where he oversaw 18 elections. Allen holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and a graduate degree from Troy University.
Kevin Savoy, chairman of ProgressPAC, said that Allen’s pro-jobs voting record has not gone unnoticed.
“Representative Allen has proven to be a committed supporter of growing jobs and cutting burdensome government red tape throughout his time in office,” said Savoy. “We look forward to his leadership and commitment to ensuring that the Secretary of State’s Office continues to operate at the speed of business in the coming years. His proven track record and experience in administering the election process will be an asset in overseeing our elections at the state level.”
The Secretary of State’s Office is tasked by state law with more than 1,000 different duties, many of which directly affect and impact businesses across Alabama.
