MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Business Council of Alabama (BCA) today announced Clay Scofield as its new Executive Vice President.
As Executive Vice President, Scofield will play a critical role in shaping the organization’s agenda, providing strategic leadership, and driving BCA’s mission to foster economic growth and protect job creation in the state of Alabama. Central to this mission, he will work with ProgressPAC, BCA’s political affiliate, to help elect pro-business candidates with pro-job agendas.

He has a talent for strategic thinking and a proven track record of developing innovative solutions to confront complex challenges facing Alabama’s business community,” said BCA President and CEO Helena Duncan. “Clay’s contributions to the state of Alabama and unwavering commitment to the community make him an invaluable asset to BCA. Scofield has 13 years of experience in Alabama government, having served in the State Legislature since 2010 and most recently as Majority Leader in the Alabama Senate. Before his legislative career, he was actively engaged in Republican Party politics and was involved in various political campaigns.
Throughout his time in the Alabama Legislature, Scofield has played a pivotal role in advocating for economic growth in Alabama. As a party leader, he has consistently worked toward job creation, government efficiency, and the protection of individual liberties.
Aside from legislative expertise, Scofield brings with him a wealth of business experience as a third-generation poultry farmer, the former owner of Clay Scofield Farms, and a background in construction and development.
