MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Business Council of Alabama has announced two promotions and the addition of a new staff member to the BCA team.
Michelle Hopson has been named Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations; Jessica Byrd has been named Executive Assistant to the President and CEO; and Christine Boice has joined the BCA team as a Receptionist.
“We have a hardworking and dedicated staff at BCA. Michelle has been, and will continue to be a vital part of the team as she leads the finance and operations departments as Senior Vice President. Jessica’s move to Executive Assistant to the President and CEO is well-deserved, and we are excited to add Christine Boice to our staff,” said BCA President and CEO, Helena Duncan. “Having these three team members in these roles will enhance the organization’s overall effectiveness in membership support and administrative processes – helping BCA better serve as the premier voice for Alabama businesses.”
Hopson came to BCA in 2020 as Director of Finance with 24 years of experience in finance and accounting in the government, non-profit and private sectors. Before her recent promotion, she held the role of Vice President of Finance. She is a graduate of Troy University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management.
“I am honored by this promotion and am proud to work alongside the incredible professionals in each department at BCA. I’m excited to continue in my role as Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations as we work to support Alabama and its business community.” stated Hopson.
Byrd joined BCA in 2021 as Administrative Assistant – Operations, bringing with her over a decade of administrative experience. She has been a vital part of BCA’s day to day operations, helping to support BCA’s core mission of serving its member companies.
“I am thrilled to continue in my new role as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO,” stated Byrd. “It has been an honor to be a part of the tremendous team and I look forward to supporting BCA’s new President and CEO better serve our members.”
Boice joins the team with years of administrative experience and plays a crucial role in ensuring the day-to-day operations of BCA run efficiently.
“I am grateful to join the BCA team. Being a part of this organization and assisting the diligent staff at BCA serve our members has been an honor,” stated Boice.
