FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 18,  2018

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The board of directors of ProgressPAC has endorsed Troy City Council President Marcus Paramore in the House of Representatives District 89 June 5 Republican primary, ProgressPAC Chairman Mike Kemp announced.

ProgressPAC is the political arm of the Business Council of Alabama.

“The ProgressPAC board voted to endorse Paramore because of his character and his support of issues that are important to Alabama’s business community,” said Kemp, president and CEO of Kemp Management Solutions LLC in Birmingham. “His position on economic development and bringing new jobs to Alabama were also key to the decision.”

The district encompasses all of Pike County and part of Dale County.

As president of the Troy City Council, Paramore has played an important role in bringing new industry and jobs to District 89. In the past year, the city of Troy and Pike County have introduced over 500 jobs providing future employment to the hard-working people of the area.

Paramore has expanded local retail and provided incentives for existing small businesses to grow. During his tenure on the council, Troy was named one of the “Top 25 fastest growing cities in Alabama.”

Paramore’s success and his willingness to provide a positive economic environment for new business and existing business shows he is not afraid of a challenge, and he has the vision and leadership needed in Montgomery.

“We are extremely pleased to receive the endorsement of ProgressPAC,” Paramore said. “I am honored it has shown confidence in me and my campaign. As a state representative I will work every day to provide a positive environment for new and existing businesses. Providing quality, high paying jobs is the cornerstone of our campaign.”
