DESCRIPTION:Marcel Debruge of Burr & Forman LLP will discuss the NLRB election at Amazon’s warehouse facility in Bessemer\, Alabama\, provide a recap and discuss what the results could mean for future unionizing efforts at other manufacturing and distribution facilities in the southeast. Marcel will also share insights on H.R. 842\, the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act\, which is a bill that has been filed in Congress that would remove the right to a secret ballot in union elections\, allow unions to access personal employee information in union-organizing drives\, and force workers to pay union dues even if they do not support the union. The Burr & Forman team will provide an overview of the current NLRB organizing process and how that could change should the PRO Act become law.
