MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Business Council of Alabama President and CEO William J. Canary today announced a new member of the BCA team as well as new titles and expanded duties for several BCA staff members.
Troy University graduate Anna M. Dobbins has been named the BCA’s Meetings/Events and Communications Coordinator, Canary said.
“We welcome Anna as the newest member of our professional team,” Canary said. “Anna’s education, experience as a BCA intern, and her private business experience were valuable training for her to become an immediate contributor to the BCA.”
Canary also announced that BCA staffers have assumed new titles and duties, effective Jan. 1. “These valuable BCA staff members are gaining new responsibilities that will help BCA grow as an organization and serve our members,” Canary said.
Dana Beyerle was named Director of Communications, Drew Harrell was named Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Operations, Joshua Vaughn was named Director of Visual Communications and Strategic Information, and Cindy York was named Director of Finance.
Canary previously announced that Mark Colson was named Senior Vice President for Governmental Affairs and Chief of Staff and Nathan M. Lindsay was named Vice President of Political Affairs and Regional Operations, Executive Director of ProgressPAC, effective Jan. 1.
Dobbins, a former BCA intern, is a December 2014 Troy University broadcast journalism graduate with a minor in public relations. She earned valuable business experience while attending Troy University and was active in campus organizations.
Dobbins was a member of the Troy University Broadcasting Club, the Public Relations/Advertising Society, and a student member of the Montgomery Chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama. Dobbins also is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the honor society of the National Communication Association.
She has experience as a bank loan administrative assistant, handling administrative duties related to loan information processing, assisting state regulators to ensure loan compliance, and helping prepare for board of director meetings.
Dobbins will report to Nancy Wall Hewston, Vice President of Communications, Strategic Information and Federal Affairs.
