The Business Council of Alabama today released Perspective ’17, a guide to the BCA’s 2017 business agenda, a restatement of our purpose and dedication to members, and events planned this year.
“At the Business Council of Alabama, we stand up for Alabama businesses that are the job creators and innovators,” Perspective ’17 says. “From small businesses to manufacturing, retail to high technology, health care, service-related, and many more, we represent more than 1 million hard working Alabama families.”
Perspective ’17 reviews 2016 legislative accomplishments and includes the BCA’s agenda for the 2017 legislative session concerning education, infrastructure, small business, manufacturing, judicial and legal reform, environment and energy, health care, tax and fiscal policy, and labor and employment.
“The new year promises opportunities in the legislative and regulatory arenas both in Montgomery and Washington, D.C., where a new day and attitude is manifesting itself in growing economic confidence,” BCA 2017 Chairman Jeff Coleman and BCA President and CEO William J. Canary said in their joint letter to Alabama business leaders.
Coleman is president and CEO of Coleman Worldwide Moving in Dothan.
Perspective ’17 also includes information on the BCA’s strong partnerships with the Alabama Aerospace Industry Association, the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association, the Business Education Alliance of Alabama, the Export Alabama Alliance, the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Coleman and Canary noted that the 2017 session is the halfway point in the 2014-18 legislative quadrennium. “We have unfinished business and opportunities ahead of us,” they wrote.
