BCA President Comments on Delay of Affordable Care Act Provision
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
MONTGOMERY—Business Council of Alabama president and CEO William J. Canary released the following statement following the announcement by the White House to delay the employer mandate provision of the Affordable Care Act:
“This delay is a common sense move to give businesses more time to implement this costly government mandate. We applaud the Administration for finally realizing it had asked the impossible of America’s job creators by not providing enough time to comply. The Business Council of Alabama supports efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act – an act that has nothing to do with affordability or health care – in its entirety, but also supports efforts to ensure all employers, regardless of size, have vehicles to provide affordable and sound health care coverage for their workforce in our still recovering economy.”
The Business Council of Alabama is Alabama’s foremost voice for business. The BCA is a non-partisan statewide business association representing the interests and concerns of nearly one million working Alabamians through its member companies and its partnership with the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama. BCA is Alabama’s exclusive affiliate to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers.
