MONTGOMERY, Alabama – Mark Colson has been named senior vice president of governmental affairs and chief of staff for the Business Council of Alabama, and Nathan Lindsay has been named vice president for political affairs, regional operations and executive director of ProgressPAC, BCA President and CEO William Canary announced today. The changes will be effective January 1, 2015.
“Mark and Nathan played a critical role in developing and implementing a strategy within the Business Council of Alabama during the critical 2014 election cycle,” said BCA Chairman Fred McCallum, president of AT&T Alabama. “Their analysis of Alabama’s political landscape was a huge benefit to Alabama’s business community, adding to the success of electing 114 of the 118 ProgressPAC-endorsed candidates.”
“Having Mark in this key leadership role will mean great things for the Business Council of Alabama,” said Canary. “His range of skills is perfectly suited to advocate the interests of Alabama’s business community at the State House. Mark has done an outstanding job throughout his tenure at BCA and his contributions cannot be overstated.”

“Nathan’s political acumen is second to none,” said Canary. “He has a proven track record of success that will continue to benefit Alabama’s business community and the Business Council of Alabama.”
Lindsay was previously the director of political affairs and regional operations for the BCA. Prior to joining the BCA, Lindsay worked in the office of former Gov. Bob Riley, where he served as aide to the governor and deputy press secretary. He is a graduate of Faulkner University.
