American Hero to Headline BCA’s 2015 Chairman’s Dinner

MONTGOMERY—The chairman of the Business Council of Alabama today announced that Robert O’Neill will be the keynote speaker at the BCA’s 2015 Chairman’s Dinner that will be held on October 6 in Birmingham.

“Robert O’Neill is one of the most highly decorated combat veterans of our time, and we are honored to welcome to Alabama this American hero,” said BCA Chairman Marty Abroms, president and managing shareholder of Abroms & Associates, P.C. in Florence. “With a mantra of ‘Never Quit’, he truly exemplifies the ‘Best of the Best’ and has an amazing story to tell.”

O’Neill has been decorated more than 52 times with honors, including two Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars with Valor, a Joint Service Commendation Medal with Valor, three Presidential Unit citations, and two Navy/Marine Corps Commendations with Valor. O’Neill rose to the rank of senior chief petty officer in the United States Navy and served as a team leader at the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU).

Since leaving active duty, O’Neill is a co-founder of Your Grateful Nation, which provides individualized transition support for Special Operations heroes and their families.

The Chairman’s Dinner is an annual event that honors the investors of the Carrying the Flag for Business Campaign, the fundraising campaign of BCA’s non-partisan political arm, ProgressPAC. The dinner also recognizes the significant volunteer work throughout the year of the chairman of BCA’s board of directors.

The Business Council of Alabama is Alabama’s foremost voice for business. The BCA is a non-partisan statewide business association representing the interests and concerns of nearly 1 million working Alabamians through its member companies and its partnership with the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama. BCA is Alabama’s exclusive affiliate to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers.
