Dana Thomas Beyerle


Director of Communications

Dana Beyerle is Director of Communications for the Business Council of Alabama, writing and editing BCA communications. He serves as part of the BCA’s Advocacy Team. A journalist since the 1970s in Florida and Alabama, Beyerle covered politics and government in Montgomery from 1988 to 2013 for United Press International and the Gadsden Times, the Times Daily in Florence, and the Tuscaloosa News. Beyerle contributed to the Tuscaloosa News’ coverage of the April 27, 2011, tornadoes that struck Alabama.

The stories resulted in a Pulitzer Prize awarded the staff in 2012. He was a reporter in Decatur, two newspapers in Florida, and worked for the Jacksonville, Fla., Chamber of Commerce. For 22 years, Beyerle was a regular guest panelist on Alabama Public Television’s For the Record news program, and its successor, Capitol Journal.

The U.S. Navy veteran earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida.
