Abby Hodge has joined the Business Council of Alabama as Executive Assistant to the President and Governmental Affairs Coordinator, BCA President and CEO William J. Canary announced.
“We are pleased to have Abby join our staff after a successful term as a BCA intern,” Canary said. “She will be a valuable addition to our BCA team and will be a vital contributor to our mission of advocating for our members and Alabama’s business community.”
Hodge, a native of Dothan, was a senior at Auburn University this year and a Governmental Affairs intern with the BCA fulfilling a variety of responsibilities. She supported the BCA Advocacy Team during the 2016 legislative session that ended in May.
In 2015, Hodge interned for the Alabama House of Representatives and was assigned to the House Ways and Means Education Committee chaired by Rep. Bill Poole, R-Northport. She was a judicial intern in the Houston County District Court and in 2013-14 was Director of Political Affairs for Auburn University’s Student Government Association.
Hodge is a 2016 graduate of Auburn University where she majored in political science. She is a former Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship recipient from Zonta International and has worked on local, state, and federal political campaigns.
