Your Alabama Business

We are the voice for Your Alabama Business!

You may not be a small business or a manufacturer, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that regardless of what size or type of business you operate, the Business Council of Alabama is your voice.

Thousands of Alabama businesses of all shapes and sizes have come to depend on the BCA as the state's most powerful and effective advocate for business at the Alabama Legislature and in the halls of the U.S. Congress. We have a long history of fighting for the interests of business no matter where that takes us. Our record of accomplishments during the past year was unprecedented. A number of BCA-backed bills, including an important transparency bill for private attorney contracts with the state, bills to reduce government red tape and frivolous lawsuit protection for a major industry and its suppliers, and bills to repay $437 million to the Alabama Trust Fund, the remaining $423 million to a rainy day fund, and an additional appropriation of $9.4 million to important pre-kindergarten program were passed during the 2013 session. These achievements are documented in The Pillars of Progress 2013, the Business Council of Alabama's fifth book in a series of annual accounts that archives in 14 chapters how the BCA is working to make economic development and education the pillars of Alabama's free market success.

As our President and CEO William Canary has stated, "Our mission is simple: We fight every day for businessmen and women to be able to sign the front of a paycheck, so that others can sign the back."
