Your Alabama Business

We are the voice for Your Alabama Business!

You may not be a small business or a manufacturer, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that regardless of what size or type of business you operate, the Business Council of Alabama is your voice.
Thousands of Alabama businesses of all shapes and sizes have come to depend on the BCA as the state's most powerful and effective advocate for business at the Alabama Legislature and in the halls of the U.S. Congress. We have a long history of fighting for the interests of business no matter where that takes us. Our record of accomplishments during the past year was unprecedented. In the 2015 regular legislative session, number of BCA-backed bills became law. These included closing the innovator liability loophole and protect manufacturers against liability lawsuits for products they did not make. Alabama became the 43rd state to approve public charter schools and give parents options where to send their children to public school. The BCA successfully advocated for an additional $29 million in appropriations to successful education programs. And the BCA supported prison reform, an action that will reduce financial pressure on funding already overcrowded prisons and reduce the need for additional tax revenues to support prison overcrowding. These achievements are documented in 2015 The Next New Start, the Business Council of Alabama's newest book in a series of annual accounts that archives how the BCA is working to make economic development and education the pillars of Alabama's free market success.
As BCA President and CEO William J. Canary has stated, "Our mission is simple: We fight every day for businessmen and women to be able to sign the front of a paycheck, so that others can sign the back."
