During his time as
attorney general, Bill McCollum filed a federal lawsuit - which 26 other states
eventually joined - against President Obama's 2010 health care legislation,
citing it as "unconstitutional."
McCollum believes that the
government cannot force Americans to purchase a product and that the
legislation violates states' sovereignty and imposes an undue financial burden
on them.
