BCA Coalition Receives Prestigious Award for Charter School Law Passage

The Business Council of Alabama and its partners who were behind successful passage of Alabama’s first public charter school law received an award from the Policy Innovators in Education Network recently in Arizona. Alabama’s public charter school law was voted as the 2015 Game Changer of the Year at the conference attended by more than 300 education advocates from 30 states and the District of Columbia. The award was conferred at the PIE Network’s annual summit in Scottsdale on Sept. 30. read more

Dual-Enrollment Tax Credit Is a Win-Win

The Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education’s career-technical dual enrollment program has released its Alabama Future Workforce Initiative Tax Credit Donation Form. Donations will provide eligible high school students an opportunity to enroll in college-level career and technical education courses. Tax credits are available for certain donations beginning Jan. 1, 2015, under the Alabama Future Workforce Initiative Act passed in 2014 by the Legislature. read more
